120VAC Shore Power
Power Requirements
AC power is typically used only for the battery charger, but check your system. Duffy offered an optional 120V 2A window defogger located in the Port step storage compartment and there could be other 120V loads on your boat.
Since your charger will sometimes run for three hours or more, the ampacity of the shore power cord must be derated by 80%. The connectors are rated for 30A and most shore power cords are rated for at least 30A, which would allow you to draw up to 24A continuously, assuming a short run length from your shore power supply to the boat.
Connectors
The boat receives shore power via a 30A receptical (NEMA L5-30R) and plug (NEMA L5-30P),
which is a standard configuration for marine shore power.
The shore connection uses a male NEMA L5-30P (30 Amp Plug) connector.
Cord
A standard marine shore power cord should be used to make the connection between your shore power source and the boat. They come in various lengths and are watertight.
